SITE WIDE PLOT!!

A book falls, a glass smashes, and an alarm blares through the school.

All students of Masquerade assemble in the Theatre. On Stage stands Headmistress Lindsay Hathaway. A large group of students run in just before the Headmistress begins to talk. Among them, the only human in the group, is a boy.

“Pale chalky skin.
Red eyes.
The creatures of nightmares.”

The students around the boy (including yourself) frown, wondering what their headmistress is talking about this time. The boy is hoping it’s a new school play, one that he’ll get a big part in. This is, after all, a Performing Arts school for the gifted. But it isn’t really. It’s a safe haven for mythical and magical creatures, the performing arts part is important, but this is where they feel safe, where the boy feels safe. He settles down in his seat, getting as comfy as he can, not knowing what’s coming will change the course of his, and everyone else's, lives forever.

He tunes back into a now serious sounding announcement.

“The Strigoi have been hunting down Moroi royals for the past two years, taking out whole families, making them their own. Strigoi in control of the world is a bad, bad thing to happen.”

Now you’re frowning, Moroi and Strigoi are terms you’ve heard before… in books. In myths. But not in real life. You’re beginning to think that the headmistress is insane, until you see the worried looking faces around you. Until you see how serious they are taking this. Because you are a human, you don’t understand what’s going on…

“Imagine pain and suffering, and then times what you’re imagining by a hundred. Because now you, the students of Masquerade, are in danger. The Strigoi have somehow heard about Masquerade, and they will stop at nothing to get what they want. Magical and mythical creatures and humans are all in danger now. They are coming, and they will make sure nothing stands in their way. They are surrounding the school's vast borders as we speak, camping out and waiting until night falls. Students and teachers will have to work together to rid the school of these creatures of night. You will never be safe, always running until you defeat them, or are defeated yourself. You have 10 hours until the sun sets, after that the barriers protecting the school will be broken. Arm yourself, train, rest, and say your last goodbyes.
"We are going to war...and I’m not going to lie to you and tell you we’re all going to get out alive, and we’re all going to be okay. Because that isn’t what’s going to happen. There will be casualties, and there will be deaths, but we will win.”

The boy cringes, this is starting to sound bad, starting to sound serious. He’s starting to believe what she’s saying, especially now that disguises are falling. He can see the vampires; their mouths open wide in shock, their pointed fangs as clear as day. The shape shifters are nervously changing around you, going from one form to another, as if trying to determine what is most dangerous. The element users are creating balls of fire, creating gusts of wind that is blowing through the theatre, in some places around the room it starts to rain, lightning strikes near one of the exit doors. The earth feels as though it is moving around underneath you, and flowers and vines are creeping up the walls, as though they are looking for someone to strangle.

“You have 10 hours, use it wisely.”

With that Headmistress Hathaway vanishes off the stage and all hell breaks loose. The students around the boy are freaking out, and on the inside so is he. Eventually the theatre quietens though, and group by group the students leave.
